What to expect on the job:
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the General Manager will lead and manage our Newport News manufacturing facility, ensuring the safety of our employees while focusing on staffing levels, employee engagement, and the timely production of the high-quality High Liner products our customers enjoy.
Included within these accountabilities are environmental compliance, site food safety, facility sanitation, maintenance of equipment/building, and a variety of continuous improvement projects.
Must haves:
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience preferably within food production or manufacturing environments
- Post-secondary education or the equivalent of related experience
- Prioritizes the safety of all employees, including an unwaveringly focused food safety
- Well-developed knowledge and insight into facility/equipment maintenance and sanitation
- A passion for our business and brand, a strong degree of drive and initiative
- Highly analytical, ability to leverage data analysis tools to make evidence-based decisions
- Ability to motivate all levels of employees towards meeting short and long-term goals
- Exceptional integrity matched with an inclusive and supportive leadership style
- Superior communication skills, demonstrates transparency and accountability in all messaging
- Focused on continuous improvement; demonstrates knowledge and application of LEAN manufacturing principles
- Excellent collaborator, sees the inherent value of cross-functional collaboration
- Flexible, able to pivot, problem-solve and re-align as needed
