Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with our client, a leading health and wellness partner for individuals, to recruit a Bilingual Disability Claims Specialist for their Toronto Office.

Role Description:

In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate themselves as a caring critical thinker. You must be interested in helping people, understand that no two cases are alike, can manage relationships, identify opportunities, solve problems and make decisions using the right interventions to support recovery and return to work. You would be responsible for every part of the disability claim process, from the initial decision, to building the right case management plan, identifying the supports needed, monitoring treatment and achievement of the plan and working with the member, employer and providers involved in the case.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing short & long-term disability cases
  • Conducting all aspects of the disability claim process from the initial decision, to building the right case management plan, identifying the supports needed, monitoring treatment and achievement of the plan and working with the member, employer and providers involved in the case
  • Navigating difficult conversations & communication with treatment providers, physicians, employers, and lawyers
  • Leveraging software systems for business efficiency

Your Qualifications:

This opportunity may be the right fit for you if you are a caring, strong communicator who is able to navigate complex disability claim conversations. We are looking for an individual who is highly organized, empathetic, and strives to help others. The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:

  • Strong communication & organizational skills
  • 2-5 years experience in short-term and long-term disability cases
  • Ability to deal with difficult conversations and complex information
  • Post-secondary education with working experience in health sciences or a related field
  • Bilingualism is required (English & French speaking)
