Develop Nova Scotia (formerly Waterfront Development) is the crown corporation responsible for leading sustainable development of high potential property and infrastructure across Nova Scotia to drive inclusive economic growth in our province. As Waterfront Development, their mandate was to redevelop and revitalize lands surrounding Halifax Harbour and other lands, including the Lunenburg waterfront. While their commitment and love of their place at the water’s edge remains steadfast, now, as Develop Nova Scotia, their mission is to support the creation of sustainable places right across Nova Scotia that attract and inspire people and investment. On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting three Regional Leads, Project Planning and Delivery, located in various regions throughout the Province, to join their team of dedicated professionals.

• Engaging key stakeholders such as regional officials of municipal, provincial and federal governments, regional economic development agencies and associations, post secondary institutions, the local business community, and the public to inform Develop Nova Scotia’s plans and projects
• Providing planning and concept development expertise and leadership in developing plans for strategic and tactical level projects
• Providing expertise in project planning and project management
• Assist and support the Director, Planning and Development in the evaluation of regional plans, proposals and strategic land acquisitions, and assessment of alternatives to inform the formulation of recommendations to the Senior Team and Board
• Cultivating working partnerships and a "can do" project environment
• Liaise with key stakeholders including federal, provincial and municipal departments and agencies, community groups, and partners to coordinate projects and programs

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications and skills:

• 5+ years experience in complex stakeholder management, ideally in both government (municipal, provincial, federal) and the private sector
• Community planning and/or capital project management experience are strongly preferred
• University education in planning, engineering, architecture, landscape architecture or business is preferred
• Interest in community and physical infrastructure development
• Proven experience developing partnerships with a variety of stakeholders coupled with a strong track record of successful community engagement
• A persuasive communicator, with a compelling presence and a gift for facilitating discussions
• Demonstrated ability to listen as well as influence
• Ability to understand and function within a political landscape

By joining Develop Nova Scotia, you will be part of a nimble organization that is making a difference in the lives of community members by building great places. This is an organization that offers you work/life balance, a dynamic work environment and the chance to be involved with some of the most interesting projects taking place in our province. In exchange for the knowledge and experience you bring, you will be rewarded with a comprehensive compensation, benefits and pension package. Develop Nova Scotia is an equal opportunity employer.
